Now, this is what I call ROI. A man in Arizona !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! at Goodwill for $5.99. He recognized it as a rare 1959 Jaeger-LeCoultre diving watch. A collector in San Francisco offered $35,000 and a $4,000 Omega Speedmaster watch in exchange for it. Goodwill: You never know what you'll find.

I rely on goodwill for a number of things - among them, donors for electrical bits and crutches (for aluminum tubing, or if I ever needed crutches). Also, child-size bicycles for a Dalek drivetrain (long story). My personal best was finding some near brand-new White Wolf roleplaying game books worth $40 each and some worn D&D books still worth probably $10 each, all for $1/$2.

I always take the time to check out the camera section when I go. One of these days I'll come across a full Contax G2 kit...

I've had some good finds there, but I've also donated a lot...
